We offer solutions for treating press mud, which is solid residue, obtained from sugarcane juice before crystallization of sugar. Press mud is dark brown to black in color, amorphous in nature with a moisture content of 70-80%, 5-9% ash & 20-28% volatile solids having the potential to generate biogas which has a methane content of 55%. The treatment scheme includes
1. Pretreatment – where the pressmud is presorted for all other contaminants like paper, aluminium foil, etcand subjected to homogenization
2. Anaerobic treatment ZPHB®- A - is a Mesophilic reactor with the agitators. The agitators produce more biogas as
compared to all other mixing systems
3. Sludge management- the digestate is separated for liquids and solids and solid is used as good organic fertilizer
4. Biogas management system – the biogas produced is cleaned for H2S and then can be used to generate power / used in boilers/can be used to produce BIOCNG®
