Net Zero as A Service
KIS Group offers consulting services for Net Zero / Carbon Emission Reduction in all types of industries. The industries that we have already served and are currently providing consultancy services to include palm oil industries, sugar, tapioca, dairy industries, poultry industries, and manufacturing industries that use fossil fuels and natural gas, among others. Many of these industries use fossil fuels such as diesel, petrol, and natural gas for their energy requirements. We audit the entire energy sources and their requirements and accordingly provide a solution to achieve their Net Zero Target Goals. Thus, industries can seamlessly integrate their Net Zero goals while focusing on their core business with KIS Group.
KIS Group can help customers develop projects with more sustainable methods and design plants for energy efficiency, thus enabling the monitoring and disclosure of GHGs for the project. The core purpose of monitoring is to track carbon emissions from all the different sources of Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions. These help to report total emissions from the industries.
THE KEY COMPONENTS / PROCESS OF IDENTIFYING AND MONITORING INCLUDE:
- Identify the fossil fuel requirements across the operations. This includes all the 3 scopes:
– Scope 1: Using natural gas / LPG / Diesel in generators / Boilers.
– Scope 2: Indirect use through electricity.
– Scope 3: The upstream process of logistics. - Replace or reduce fossil fuel inputs: Based on the baseline emissions, KIS Group provides transition pathways in terms of fuel switching from fossil fuels to clean fuels — Biogas, Bio methane, Hydrogen, BioLNG, and Renewable energy. Sourcing from solar and hydro, waste heat recovery by using heat exchangers, and using energy-efficient motors and control systems.
- Continuous Optimisation and Verification: The monitoring system will be installed to continuously track performance, and all the data will be displayed on a cloud dashboard, thus enabling access to the minimum fossil fuel reductions per year.
- Registering the project with UNFCCC for securing carbon credits either with GS, VERRA, or I-REC. These credits can be used to achieve Net Zero Target Goals by offsetting residual emissions.
- Trading of credits: If the credits generated are more, they can be traded with other manufacturing companies to offset their carbon emissions. The manufacturing industries can purchase verified carbon credits.
- Financial Model: The service is provided with investment by KIS Group, thus helping industries reduce their initial capital requirement for the NZAAS, and can be modelled on a capital sharing / CER sharing model based on their requirements.
BENEFITS OF USING NZAAS
Focus on core business – KIS Group can come in as an expert on the complex decarbonization process, thus allowing industries to focus their time and resources on their core business.
Financial and economic benefits – reducing financial burdens – To reduce financial burdens, we can work on all the modules of BOOM & Joint Venture. Thus, initial capital expenditures can be reduced, and projects can be implemented with only operational expenditures.
Environmental and Sustainability Reports- KIS Group can lower GHG emissions by directly reducing fuel consumption, improving air quality, and promoting a circular economy using waste to generate energy. This provides access to incentives and carbon markets in terms of green credits, I-REC, and subsidies.
Operational & Technological Benefits – There are integrated data and real-time dashboards to track fossil fuel consumption and emissions, which can be continuously optimized by making the system more efficient.
Strategic and Competitive Benefits – Helps to meet corporate and regulatory carbon-neutral goals and obtain Net Zero Certifications. The ESG ratings of the company can be enhanced through sustainability reporting. It can also mitigate the volatility of fossil fuel prices in the market, thus providing a better advantage in production costs. Financial institutions and investors fund these companies because of their environmentally conscious efforts, giving them an edge in domestic and international markets.
KIS GROUP HAS IMPLEMENTED NZAAS FOR ONE OF THE MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES - UNILEVER
Thus, we are reducing:
Scope 1 emissions: 44,876 tCO₂e/year.
Scope 2 emissions: 7,800 tCO₂e/year.
Scope 3 emissions: 179,504 tCO₂e/year.
The same model is being followed for Mewah Group, AEP Group, Shell, and SIPEF, and many other palm oil plantations.
