1. BioCNG® TO HOUSEHOLD/ INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

The Biogas produced from the Anaerobic digesters can be used to replace the LPG which is expensive for cooking or heating purpose in the household. In rural areas the biogas /BioCNG® can replace the commonly used fuels like kerosene, wood or charcoal thus replacing the fossils fuels with cheaper fuel.

The amount of biogas used for cooking purposes usually varies between 30 and 45 m3 per month. The Biogas stoves are designed to meet a mixture of bio-gas and air in the ratio of 1:10.

KIS is presently executing a project in Sarawak, Malaysia for Biogas generated from Sago waste, which is upgraded to BioCNG® and is distributed to the household of 2 villages. The upgraded BioCNG® is filled at 230 bars in cascades and transported to the 6 satellite stations where the filling of satellite station happens located at distance of 2 km from each other. The satellite station is a stationary cascade stationed at that location. The filled BioCNG® from the satellite station is injected into the pipe grid at a pressure of 10 bars and then at each house hold the pressure is further reduced to 30mbars for the utilization in cooking. Thus the entire village LPG will be replaced with BioCNG® green gas.

2. BioCNG® TO DISPENSER/VEHICLES

The compressed Biomethane up-to 250 bar retrieve from the CBG/BioCNG® Station will be filled to High Pressurized Cylinder Storage and in-land transported using truck fleets to designated location from the closest 1 km to farthest 60 km to the point of consumption. However if the point of consumption to the dispenser is upto 1 km from the upgrading plant then pipeline is laid to connect it to dispenser via priority panel. The vehicles filling can be done through the dispenser at a pressure of 200 bars. The vehicles can be converted to BioCNG® based on the 100% utilisation of BioCNG® monofuel, 50:50% fossil fuel: BioCNG® which is the dual fuel system which is most popular in diesel engines and bifuel system - This system is also called “switchable” systems and used only for gasoline type engine. Through this conversion system the engine operator/driver can freely switch the engine to run on gasoline or methane gas fuel.

Below is our project where the biogas production, upgrading of the Biogas to BioCNG® and use of BioCNG® in dispenser is at the same location.

3. BioCNG® TO GENSET

The existing gensets whch are running on diesel can be changed to BioCNG®. This reduces the cost of using fossil fuels. The gensets can be converted to 100% BioCNG® utilisation or can also be used in dual fuel mode of 70% BioCNG® and 30% Diesel . Any gensets of capacity 30 kvA to 400 kvA capacity can be converted into mono or dual fuel system based on the client requirements .

Below photograph shows the genset converted to mono fuel system and dual fuel system in palm oil plantations.

4. BioCNG® TO PIPELINE INJECTIONS

BioCNG® can be injected into the existing pipeline with a pressure of 10 bars. The pipeline can be either stainless steel with covering of PVC encased or else it can be of MDPE depending on the clients requirement either underground or above ground. However at the point of utilisation pressure reducing valve is installed to reduce the pressure of to 30 mbar at the point of utilisation.
