TORRENT PHARMACEUTICALS – FOOD WASTE TO ENERGY PROJECTS- GUJARAT
The project is based on sludge generated from effluent treatment plant of 30 m3/ day and 500 kg of canteen/food waste. The food waste is crushed with a crusher and made to fine <3 mm particle size. Then it is fed into the reactor at the concentration of 10% by the addition of water. The reactor MOC is glass fused with a fixed roof. The outlet of the digester is collected in slurry tank and solids & liquids are separated using solid liquid separator. The solid is 40% concentration which is used as organic fertiliser. Part of the liquid is recirculated back to the digestor. The biogas is scrubbed for H2S and used for kitchen through pipeline for the preparation of the food. The gas generation is 123 m3/day replacing the use of LPG gas.
